A truly timeless Sparkman & Stephens 40 which was built in 1989 at the Finnish yard of Turku Teräskaluste. The original design was drawn in 1965 and is model no 1765.

 

Odysseia has been the subject of an extremely sympathetic restoration by her previous owner in 2015, ensuring that all the important characteristics of a S&S have been kept but bringing her into modern specification. Replacing all electronic, fitting new sails and completely refurbishing the interior has resulted in a beautiful sailing yacht.

 

A new Volvo Penta 40hp Diesel engine was fitted in 2019 which enables you quick/safe passage even when the wind isn’t in your favour.

 

The interior is constructed of teak and is extremely bright, spacious and well thought-out allowing for six guest to sleep comfortably. There is a small heads compartment with an original baby Blakes manual toilet.

Odesseia is able to sit pretty at anchor, but also perform under sail with extreme grace. Her current owner has used her for shorthanded sailing and as such is set up for this well.

 

Always wintered in a heated boatshed!
