Description

Fly X is one of François Camatte designed 6 Metres, one of 46 of his designs, which was built in 1929 at Chiesa boatyard in Cannes. Originally commissioned for Jean Mirabaud of Mirabaud Bank who at the time was a very fine sailor, representing the Swiss in growing the International Rating Rule.

Today we find Fly X in not just cruising ‘spec’ with a cabin top, but also a very interesting rudder which was fitted by her previous owner to allow for an engine/propeller.

Fly X can be found in storage at the Camatte Museum where she is awaiting a full restoration to bring her back to an original racing specification. Work that has been identified that needs doing: frame replacement in places and refitting her original rudder.

This sale is for the boat, aluminium mast and a set of old Dacron sails
