About Us

The Metre Yard was established from a love of classic sailing and motor yachts.

Founded by Carl Whitewood, a classic yacht owner and passionate boat racer. He has been providing brokerage service to clients for over a decade, and following time at a Super Yacht brokerage house in Monaco, has now returned to his roots in Hamble.

At the core of The Metre Yard is our brokerage service, offering some of the finest and interesting boats that can found on the market today. The Brokerage department is headed up by Carl Whitewood who has over a decade of yacht brokerage experience behind him, whether it’s a small classic sailing dinghy or a 30m yacht we look after every boat and client the same.

During the summer of 2021 we created The Metre Yard Restoration Programme which was to offer owners a place to restore and preserve some of the wonderful classic boats that the brokerage department has sold.
